Las Olas Shopping

Las Olas shopping is a touristic attraction in itself. Walking up and down the boulevard, you’ll find plenty of unique and upscale shops at Las Olas Boulevard staggered with its many bars and restaurants.

Make sure you use common sense when bringing very little children in some of the shops and galleries. Some items are often fragile and one-of-a-kind. Having said that, Las Olas shopping is a fun and relaxing way to spend a few hours of your day.

Here is a sampling of just a few shops – there are plenty more of them!!

Las Olas Shopping

Seldom Seen – This is an artsy and almost quirky shop. It’s arts and crafts handmade by artists. It’s a little difficult to explain so the next time you’re in Fort Lauderdale, make sure you traipse on over here and have a look around. They have an eclectic collection of small furniture, sculpture, household items, jewelry, blown glass, magnets and toys, among other things. This is where I discovered mid-western artist Brian Andreas and fell in love with his Story People series. 954-527-9151

Needlepoint Originals – When you think of needlepoint, you might think of the napkins you made at school for your home economics class or something that grandma did in the afternoons. But with this gallery’s canvasses you can reinterpret the artwork of the masters with needle, thread and cloth. Other original designs are also available. 954-463-1900

Flora Ottimer Children’s Boutique – This is an exclusive shop selling children’s clothing, shoes, toys and accessories from baby to about 6 years old. They carry the Florence Eiseman high-quality line of clothing for children as well as other brands. This is a great place to shop for special occasion clothing or if you want to find a special gift. 954-463-2292

Not about Las Olas shopping but staying - the only hotel right on Las Olas Boulevard is the Riverside Hotel. This is a exclusive and upscale hotel. Note, however, that this hotel has one of the best views for the Winterfest Boat Parade event that occurs every December in Fort Lauderdale. If you want to stay here, make sure you book a room overlooking the New River. (954) 467-0671
