Candy Cane Parade

Light up the season with a parade by the beach

The Candy Cane Parade lights up the Hollywood Beach Broadwalk with vehicles dressed up for the holidays as colorful and lighted floats. Marching bands from several local schools or community and performing groups join in to please the crowd and keep their toes tapping to upbeat rhythms. The parade has a very local quality to it. This year’s theme is “White Ice Parade.” Entrants are limited to using either white or ice blue lights to illuminate their floats so it will be interesting to see how creative participants will get in decorating. We shall see! The parade’s focus is community and getting people out, plus encouraging businesses and groups to participate.

Here’s a 5-minute video to give an idea of what the parade is like. This one was made by the organizers of the Ms. Florida Teen USA beauty pageant.
